Stained Glass Creations
OHS Drawing II students studied the way professional artists use tile, stone, and glass to create beautiful mosaics. Students studied religious to modern-day mosaics to help generate ideas for their own designs. Students learned the difference between different types of glass, how to cut glass correctly, how to grout, and how to solder with a soldering iron, and how to use flux and zinc to create a unique and original glass mosaic window. Students used elements of lines, shape and space in their designs to help create a organized image. The most successful stained glass windows show a variety of bright, elaborate colors and little grout. Students soldered or made a chain for the purpose of hanging it in window. The student
